Gaggia 14101 Classic Espresso Machine Reviews
What benefits can buyers expect from this Gaggia coffee machine?
This Gaggia product has been praised for the quality of most of the components, particularly the surprisingly quiet 17-1/2 bar pump system, and the finished espresso. When users are able to get the timing right they never seem to complain about the strength of the shot or the flavour.
Essentially, the Gaggia Classic Espresso maker is designed to deal with the majority of tasks involved in making a great espresso in an effective way; it offers great pressure, an ideal temperature from the high-voltage boiler and a measuring scoop of 7g that provides just the right amount of coffee for a shot.
From there the tamping and final produce is down to you and this is where we begin to separate the happy customers from the dissatisfied ones.
A Couple of Complaints
One of the main reasons why this product does not always receive great reviews is the fact that it takes time and practise to create the perfect shot because of the tamper and grinder, this is a great, realistic machine but it is not an automatic.
Another common complaint regards the low quality of the frother. The turbo pannarello steam wand is an upgrade from previous versions of the 14101 but is has not been well received because it lets in too much air and has restricted movement in the pitcher.
As a result, the cappuccino function is disappointing but, as some users point out, it is difficult to place anything larger than an espresso glass under this machine anyway. Finally there is some concern over the longevity of the product, with some buyers highlighting some loss of pressure and boiler corrosion with time.
Overall, Most Customers were Happy about their Purchase
If you want a versatile machine that can produce coffee with ease, straight from the first attempt, then this Gaggia coffee machine may not be for you because this is not a device where you press a button and simply wait for the results.
The more complex nature of this machine means it geared towards budding baristas and people that are willing to experiment with the science of coffee making; therefore, if you have a passion for coffee and some patience this robust, high-quality Gaggia 14101 could exceed expectations – as long as you only want to make espressos.
